Harold “Hal” Queen has gone from horseplayer to trainer to the proud owner of a homebred champion and Breeders’ Cup World Championships winner. Auspicious decisions with a dash of unwitting good fate have shaped not only his life but also his influence on the modern breeding industry in Florida. One of his mares in particular, Florida’s 2010 broodmare of the year Riveting Drama, has produced five stakes winners including champion sprinter Big Drama, now a leading freshman sire; and a worthy award candidate in Sheer Drama.
